Chapters 7-12 Summary

In chapter seven Juliana Glamm is taking a ride in an aero plane with her father. This is very dangerous and shows how brave she is even if she is worried about crashing. Her father flies her over to the Titanic and shows her it. They have first class tickets aboard it and will be on it in less than a week.
Paddy had been sleeping on the Titanic for four nights now. He still was discovering new amazements. He had been searching the ship for hiding spots so he could hide if he need be. He decided he would need to fit in with everyone so he stole a crew uniform and put it on. Just when he was admiring himself ,John and Alfie Huggins walked in. Alfie was getting a uniform because he worked for White Star now. After his dad had left Alfie saw Paddy come out of his hiding spot. Alfie was very worried because he had admitted that he was only fifteen out loud to his dad and that the steward, Paddy, had overheard.
In chapter nine the boarding of the Titanic began. The ship was buzzing with activity as passengers boarded the ship including Juliana and her family and Sophie and her mom.
In chapter ten Paddy walks among the first class passengers. He is in pick pocketing heaven. As he serves champagne to the wealthy travelers the Titanic barely misses a fatal crash with another ship.
In chapter eleven Juliana's father is in an intense, money consuming poker game. Everyone is drinking and having a good time accept Julie. She is mad that her dad has been playing poker and will not escort her to dinner as he should. Instead of doing it himself he gets a steward, Alfie to do it which only humiliates Julie. As she is sat down at the same table as Sophie you can see her confusion on why she is sitting with this girl but they educate each other on what they are doing there. Although they seem very different they both realize they are the same in some ways.
Before Alfie grabs a shawl for a wealthy women in her luggage he goes to see his father in the boiler room. It is a very large ,crowded , and hot room. It must be extremely dangerous with all the smoke and fire in it. After he grabs the shawl in the cargo hold he sees something move in a bright red motorcar. What could it be?

Sophie Bronson

Sophie, yet again is another very intelligent character in this book. She is a fourteen-year-old  American girl. Although she gets angry at the officers for arresting her mom after she protested Women's Rights. She shows maturity in the situation. Her relentless mom is visiting London to protest for Women's rights. Sophie is tagging along to make sure she does not get into to much trouble. Obviously she has. They have tickets on the Titanic to return to America. Sophie is a very mature and smart character.

Alfie Huggins

Alphonse Huggins, Alfie for short, is a very calm character in my mind. He stays calm when he finds out that his mom has left him and he is alone on the streets. He is intelligent when he tries to turn a bank note in and they won't let him. He does not get angry and stays calm.
He is mature enough to think of the idea to join the White Star Line so he can be with his father when he goes off to sea. Although he has to lie about his age to join the crew he is still making a smart decision. Alfie is a mature, calm, and a smart character in this book.
